The Povedan Community gathered for the Institutional Living Rosary last October 25, 2023 at the Poveda school grounds, as a meaningful way to culminate the month of October, dedicated to our Blessed Mother, Queen of the Holy Rosary.
This prayerful event was centered on the theme of peace, solidarity and reconciliation. The members of the community offered the recitation of the Holy Rosary for peace in our country and the whole world. Our brothers and sisters who are experiencing the devastation brought by war and violence were remembered during the rosary, especially those in the midst of armed conflict between Israel and Palestine.
All the members of the community actively participated in this communal recitation of the rosary. The students who served as living beads held herbal plants the entire time. These plants were put in the school garden and will be taken care of by the students.
Thus, the said activity became a concrete expression of their love and devotion to our Blessed Mother, as exemplified by St. Pedro Poveda, who encourages us to “trust in the help of the Mother of God and call on her with perseverance and humility.” (Staunch Friends of God, page 41).
