The Art of Storytelling: Bridging the Past, Present, and Future

On December 9, 2024, Grades 2 to 6 students celebrated the culmination of #EnglishMonth2024 during the General Assembly. This year’s theme, “The Art of Storytelling: Bridging the Past, Present, and Future,” emphasized the enduring power of narratives 📜 to connect generations 👪.
POVEDA warmly welcomed back Mrs. Yvette Novenario-Nepomuceno, a proud alumna and one of the school’s #Legado. Her return to her alma mater was even more meaningful as she was greeted by her former school principal, now College President, Ms. Rosalinda Basas 💛.
In her inspiring talk, Mrs. Novenario-Nepomuceno shared personal experiences from her involvement in the EDSA Revolution and significant moments in her broadcasting career. By stressing storytelling’s profound and lasting impact in driving reform, she highlighted the importance of not just merely knowing but also understanding the past to shape a brighter future. At the end of her talk, she encouraged the students to become storytellers in their own right—those who weave narratives that inspire and foster positive transformation in their communities.
